About the Breed
The Dachshund is a small, long-bodied breed with short legs and a playful, alert expression. They come in three coat types—smooth, long-haired, and wire-haired—and a variety of colors and patterns. Dachshunds are clever, curious, and brave dogs, originally bred for hunting but now cherished as loyal and spirited companions.
Disciplines: Obedience training, trick training, tracking, rally obedience, agility, therapy dog work, companion-focused activities.
